Most Meesho sellers find out the hard way that "zero commission" doesn't mean zero cost. Between shipping charges, fixed platform fees, GST and the orders that come back as returns, a decent chunk of your selling price disappears before it ever reaches your bank account. This calculator adds all of that up in one place, so you know your real per-order profit before you decide on a price — not after you've already dispatched a hundred parcels at a loss.

What actually eats into your Meesho payout

Every Meesho order carries a few separate deductions, and they don't all work the same way:

Because commission varies so widely by category, the calculator lets you set it yourself. If your Supplier Panel shows 0% for your category, set the field to 0 and you will see how much of your cost is really shipping rather than commission.

This calculator uses simplified, representative rates to give you a fast planning estimate. Meesho updates its fee card by category fairly often, so always cross-check the exact percentage and shipping slab shown on your own Supplier Panel before pricing a new product.

Typical shipping cost by zone

Shipping is charged in weight slabs, and the zone matters as much as the weight — a 500g parcel going across the country costs noticeably more than the same parcel delivered within your own city.

ZoneCoversTypical cost impact
LocalSame city as your warehouseLowest — smallest weight-slab charge
RegionalSame state or nearby zoneModerate
NationalAnywhere else in IndiaHighest — biggest chunk of low-ticket orders

A worked example

Say you sell a kurti for ₹500 that costs you ₹220 to source, shipped Regional, with a 15% return rate. Roughly: commission ₹50, fixed fee ₹9, shipping around ₹28, GST (18% on those three) about ₹16, and the RTO impact from returned parcels adds a further ₹8 or so. That's close to ₹111 in total deductions — leaving a net profit of around ₹169 per delivered order, a margin of roughly 34%. Change any one input — a higher return rate, a heavier product, or a National-zone buyer — and that margin moves fast. That's exactly why it's worth running your real numbers through the calculator above instead of guessing.

5 ways to protect your Meesho margin

Does Meesho really charge zero commission?

On many categories, the commission has come down close to zero, but it isn't uniformly zero everywhere — some categories still carry a slab-based percentage. The bigger, more consistent cost for most sellers is shipping, not commission, which is why this calculator treats them as separate line items.

What is RTO and why does it hurt my profit so much?

RTO (Return to Origin) happens when a buyer refuses or returns a COD order. You usually pay for both the forward shipping and the return shipping, without earning any revenue from that order — which is why a high return rate can be far more damaging to your margin than a slightly higher commission.

Why is GST charged on fees instead of my selling price?

Meesho charges GST on the services it provides you — commission, fixed fee and shipping — not on the value of the product you're selling. That's a marketplace service charge, separate from any GST you may owe on your own sales as a registered business.

Why did my actual payout differ from this calculator's estimate?

This tool uses simplified, representative rates for quick planning. Your exact commission and shipping slab depend on your specific category, product weight and the buyer's delivery zone, all of which you can check precisely in your Meesho Supplier Panel.

Does a higher selling price always mean a lower fee percentage?

Often yes, because fixed fees and shipping charges don't scale with price. A ₹65 shipping charge is a bigger bite out of a ₹300 product than a ₹900 one — so low-ticket items usually need tighter cost control to stay profitable.
